Vern Montgomery

Life As I See It

Vern Montgomery is a North Vancouver based artist who has lived in the Lower Mainland for the majority of his life. As a stroke and brain aneurysm survivor, he struggles with everyday tasks - but you will never see any of this bring him down or reflected in his artwork. Vern is a positive, upbeat person with a caring heart, great sense of humour, and a loud, contagious laugh. Instead of dwelling on what could have been Vern finds pleasure in painting life as he sees it. Mainly chosing to use acrylic on canvas, Vern paints all kinds of things - including local landscapes, popular sites, and people people people!

Vern was one of 66 residents displaced from his home in the Deep Cove Lions Manor fire

As a way to fundraise, greeting cards and totes featuring his artwork are being sold. The totes showcase a new slogan “Cove Love” – a reflection of the amazing community we have, and how much everyone has come together in this time of need.
